Armor is a type of wearable item that partially protects the player against attacks.  Armor comes in three pieces: head, chest and legs.  The stat bonuses provided by armor depend on the slot.  All slots provide a Defense bonus and a Warmth bonus, but each piece also applies a specific bonus. Head armor raises Energy capacity, chest armor increases Health, and leg armor boosts Energy regen.

Racial Armor Abilities

Armor will have different benefits depending on the race it belongs to.

• Avian: Allows you to glide
• Apex: Allows faster running capabilities and higher leaps, greatly increasing mobility
• Floran: Allows sunlight to be converted into extra energy
• Human: Allows you to carry more items
• Hylotl: Allows you to swim faster
• Glitch: Allows you to mine faster
• Novakid: Generates a currently unknown amount of light; Neither the race nor their armor are included in the game yet, so actual abilities may vary after official release

The armor gives these abilities, not the race itself. It is likely that players will have to be wearing a complete set to gain these abilities. As the player progresses through the game, they will be able to craft other race's armors and gain their abilities, but at the start players may only craft their own race's armor. 

Tiers

There are 10 tiers of armor for each race, with tier 1 being the worst and tier 10 being the best. All race armor prior to Novakid's has been implemented, however the stats may still change due to balancing updates.  Each tier corresponds to a different crafting material.

Starting Armor

Starting armor are the clothes the player choose to start the game with at the character creation screen. Each one of the races have their own unique armor that they can choose from, and later weave with a yarn spinner.

Racial Armors

Each Race has its own craft-able armor which can be unlocked by completing upgrades.   The player can obtain the armor of other races via merchants, blueprints , or other players.  In the current version, v. Furious Koala  (26/01/2014), all race armor of the same tier still has the same base stats.   For example, this means that tier 7 avian (Peacock Set) has the same stats as tier 7 floran (Gatherer's Set).  It is possible this may change in future updates.

• Although each race has different armor, it is possible to find and equip armor from other races.
• Armor pieces that only affect the player's appearance are called Vanity Items.
• The stats displayed in-game are rounded up.  Actual stats often have decimals.
