General Information[]
Some locations existed with USCM personnel, including underground bunkers, however this was removed in later versions of the game. In logs found in these bases it is implied the USCM was discriminatory against non-human races, although other logs described friendly encounters with other species, with one instance describing surprise to find a non-human aggressor was actually a civil being looking only to trade. As this information was removed however, this may not be currently lore-friendly information.
In the Starbound 1.3 mech update the player will be deployed into a training course; which is a gigantic abandoned u.s.c.m ship. In addition, Apex codex logs pertinent to the 1.3 Mech update includes a logbook that describes the USCM when observed by the MiniKnog. In the codex, they devise a plan to best defeat the USCM, by exploiting their requests for Biotechnology. They may have succeeded in destroying the USCM either before or after The Ruin attack on Earth, as they no longer can be found aside from their prison complexes and derelict ships.
Technology[]
USCM Marines wielded modern Weaponry in the form of Assault Rifles, Snipers and even Flamethrowers and employ them to good effect. They wore modern body armor that protects their entire body. They also designed some Mechs, with a focus on defense.
Trivia[]
- USCM is a direct reference to the organization of the same acronym in the movie series Aliens.
- The name could be a reference to the United Nations Space Command (U.N.S.C) from the popular franchise Halo.
- The name may also reference the United States Marine Corps (U.S.M.C)
