For a list of all Blocks see: Blocks

Due to the fact that Starbound will have procedurally generated worlds blocks will be broken up into three sections.

Currently all information on this page is considered to be WORK IN PROGRESS until the release of the game can confirm all attributes.

Common Blocks[]

These blocks are what will make up the majority of a planets terrain.  they include dirt, sand, cobblestone, etc.

Ores & Gems[]

These blocks are highly valued and used in a wide array of mechanics including crafting, fuel, and possibly smelting. They are broken out into the following groups:

Crafted Blocks[]

These are strictly blocks that require some form of crafting by the player to create. Bone Blocks can be crafted by players, but can also be found naturally and are thus not listed here.

Natural Blocks[]

These blocks naturally occur on the planet's surface and can be placed pretty much anywhere. Note that some of these blocks may also have been created by a planet's civilization (like most of the bricks). Blocks that can actually be created by players are (also) placed in the "Crafted Blocks" section.
